Vaguely Transient
I just wanted to share with you this beautiful painting that a friend of mine, Dara Alter, did. :) It is my favorite among her “Greater Toronto” series that she currently has on her website. Her other series, “City of Gold” is extremely thought provoking also, part of which was exhibited at the Alfa Art Gallery.

My mom gave me a new upside down perspective on this one. How trippy. :)

I tried to keep my promise of scanning darkroom work, but, as it turns out, my parents have a horrible scanner so I’ll have to wait a little longer, either til my next Rutgers trip or when I get better equipment.

Until then, enjoy old work. I finished very few in college and I’m surprised at the amount of unfinished work I have. But here they are. :)

I thought I’d take a brief glance at the past. These were my favorite pieces at the time I was making them. Or ever. Unfortunately, except for one, I’ve given them all away.

All Oil Painting.

It’s done. You have no idea how I feel right now. There is no way for this to dry by Tuesday morning, but I don’t care. Because this says Possibility to me.

So I’ve been a bad artist. Traditional artist, anyway. I’ve been really busy going to my high school to learn photo stuff, reading tutorials on programs, and just wasting away in my tomb called the basement. I started this piece, though, and I have high hopes for it. I’m hoping to finish it in the next few days before I depart for the east coast again so that I can finally give my high school the art piece I owe it. I’d say, by the last week of February, I should be set to set more projects in motion after creating a studio setting in my parents’ house. Until then, we’ll just monitor the progress of this painting.

Acrylic. I have a lot of respect for people who can actually  make really good acrylic paintings. I used to be able to paint with it, but now, after using oils, I just can’t go back.

Wood Sculpture. I’m really new at sculpture AND woodshop type things so this was a project that really caused me a lot of stress. I’m probably going to fix the bottom part so it’s not so “base” looking, which was a complaint from the critique in class. This wasn’t what I expected, but considering the mental agony this caused me, I’d say I’m content. :)
